headlamps, LED classification lamps and LED hazard flasher. |

Self propelled accident relief rake

The newly introduced self propelled ARTV (accident relief tool
van) which consists of an air conditioned hospital coach (complete
with an operation theatre) coupled with a van with rerailing and
metal cutting equipment. |

There are two underfloor engines driving separate
hydraulic transmissions for propulsion. Note the roof mounted
radiators. |

The hospital part of the rake gets electric power
from an onboard diesel genset which is located in the far side
under the roof hatch. An accident relief rake is to stable on an
open line so that it may be sent on the field at the earliest. In
the event of an emergency, the earlier loco hauled AR rakes meant
location of a suitable locomotive before the rake could be moved,
while these trains (which are based on DMUs) need only turning of
the ignition key... |
