The 1063 Down crosses the 6012 Up at Pullampeta. The 6012 Up is
late, the 1063 is before time. |

Please visit my webpage on the Scissor
crossings at Pophlaj. The other locations where similar
crossings exist have been identified by fellow IRFCA members as
Dudhani between Hotgi/Gulbarga and Ranjangaon between
Daund/Ahmednagar. The most likely reason for such an arrangement is
to permit the use of a single signal cabin in these tiny
stations. |

A pair of freight WDM 2s from Katni wait at Boribial, one
station before Daund from the Solapur side. |

Pune WDM 2 # 17694 hauls an empty TK wagon load. The rule about
a non hazardous wagon being marshaled between the ends of the train
and the TKs is quite impossible to implement as the 4 wheeler
carriages like CRTs or CRCs with the appropriate couplers have been
withdrawn. Have I proved the point about battered appearance of
freight powers ? |

Unique shunt signal at the Pune yard. The pit lines on the left
are the Queen's Garden C&W and washing facility. Platforms of
the Pune Jn. are immediately after the silver second bridge barely
visible in the picture. The 'L' next to the tracks indicates level
ground, while an upslope is indicated by an upward arrow with a
figure (distances in meters of the upslope), likewise for down
slope. |

An attempt at explaining the operation of the normal shunt
signals and the unique shunt signal shown in the earlier
picture. |

The first Pune shed WDM 2C # 18737R spotted by me. This is a
DCW Patiala rebuilt power as the R in the number suggests. Zubin
mentions that he was recently hauled by a WDM 2 C # 17871 R which
had Jhansi markings under the cab windows and Pune markings on the
hoods. Loco being sent out of Pune shed in a hurry ? |

This seems to suggest that the WDM 2Cs at Pune are actually ex
JHS powers. Note the striking livery including the gold strips on
the cattle guard. I have a soft corner for the cream shade in the
middle - Abu Road shed bathe the entire locos in this lovely shade.
Note the repositioning of the sand boxes from the hood corners to
the bogies in the WDM 2Cs. In the earlier pic note the cyclone type
air filters (with an motorised air blower - whose pipe can be seen
on the catwalk near the radiator), these air filters are standard
on the WDM 2cs and WDG 2s. |

The double decked rake of the Pune - Daund passenger attached
to this loco. It was surprising to see the rake which is in its
last stages being given a new livery recently. |
